Re-opening a CAPA Phase

A CAPA phase can be re-opened at any time while the CAPA record is INWORKS. A user must have the appropriate rights to be able to re-open a CAPA Phase. The user can access the workspace options and CAPAs from the CAPA Coordinator dashboard or from the My Tasks dashboard.

NOTE: A pending Quality Portal Supplier CAPA Investigation task or Implementation task will be deleted from the Supplier Quality Portal if the CAPA is re-opened in the previous phase in the CAPA Management application.

  1. From the CAPA record, click Other Actions > Reopen Phase.
  2. Click the drop down button and select the phase to be re-opened. This depends on the current phase of the CAPA.
  3. Enter a sign-off comment.
  1. Click the Sign-off button.
    Result: The Sign-off window is displayed.
  2. Enter your user ID and password and then click the Sign-off button.
    Result: The CAPA phase is now re-opened and the user’s signature and comments can be viewed in the Activity section of the record.

NOTE: All phases following the phase(step) that was re-opened will now have to be signed-off; however, all data previously entered stays intact.
